VSGA One-Day at Potomac Shores Golf Club

Potomac Shores Golf courseIf you’ve been thinking about playing at the new Potomac Shores Golf Club near Dumfries, Virginia this may be the perfect opportunity.

The Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) has announced the addition of a One-Day event, open to all golfers, to be conducted at northern Virginia’s Potomac Shores Golf Club.

The golf tournament at Potomac Shores will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

Opened this spring after many delays, Potomac Shores is a daily-fee Jack Nicklaus Signature Design. The layout is the first publicly accessible Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

Meticulously carved through mature hardwood forests overlooking the majestic Potomac River, the spectacular par-72 layout features dramatic vistas, native wetland buffers and more than 200 feet of show-stopping elevation changes. The high-strategy nature of the game is offset by a fast, fun and fair playing experience geared toward rewarding golfers of all skill levels.

VSGA One-Day events are open to men and women golfers of all ages and abilities. Golfers of every level have an opportunity to participate and the entry fee is $56 per person for VSGA members ($76 for non-VSGA members), which includes all administration, course fees and prizes. Participants must have a current Handicap Index established at a VSGA Member Club and meet the requirements of the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. Non-VSGA Members will only be allowed to participate if there are spots available, but will not be allowed to win any prizes.
