2011 VSGA and MAPGA Rules of Golf Workshops

Rules of GolfA squirrel just stole my ball… what do I do? Where do I drop after fishing my ball out of the lake? I hit my opponent’s ball on the green with my ball… where should they be spotted?

Golf has A LOT of rules! And the more you know the easier it is to make the correct decisions on the course. And, occasionally an obscure rule in your back pocket can help you win a hole when you’re down 2 with 2 to play.

Help is on the way… attend one of the upcoming 2011 VSGA and MAPGA Rules of Golf Workshops and you too can know what Decision 21/5 is. They are offering full or half day workshops this coming February and March.

Half Day Workshops include…
– Review of Definitions
– Discussion on the Rules of Golf
– PowerPoint presentation showing actual Rules situations
– PGA member service requirement credit
– Optional golf for a cart fee only (weather permitting)

Half Day Workshops will be held…
Saturday, March 5 – Laurel Hill Golf Club, Lorton
Monday, March 7 – Cedar Point Country Club, Suffolk
Saturday, March 12 – Roanoke Country Club, Roanoke
Monday, March 14 – Independence Golf Club, Midlothian

Full Day Workshops include…
– Review of Definitions
– Discussion on the Rules of Golf
– Use of the Decisions book and the Rules of Golf
– PowerPoint presentation showing actual Rules situations
– On-course application of the Rules of Golf (weather permitting)
– PGA member service requirement credit
– Personalized certificate of attendance

Full Day Workshops will be held…
Monday, Feb. 7 – Springfield Golf and Country Club, Springfield
Saturday, Feb. 12 – Richmond Country Club, Richmond
Saturday, Feb. 19 – James River Country Club, Newport News

The full-day workshop fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments during breaks and a Rules of Golf book. The half-day workshop fee includes a continental breakfast, refreshments during breaks and a Rules of Golf book.
