It’s AT&T National Week!

Tiger Woods' AT&T NationalThis week the PGA TOUR returns to the nations capital after a 2 year hiatus. The 2012 AT&T National is being held at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. from June 26-July 1, 2012.

Your host Tiger Woods and a strong field (including Watney, Choi, Mahan, Furyk, and Johnson) are back from Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa where the tournament was played in 2010 and 2011 while Congressional CC prepared for and hosted the 2011 U.S. Open.

The practice rounds begin today, June 26th, followed by the AT&T National Pro-Am on Wednesday, and the first round of play on Thursday. The tournament concludes on Sunday July 1st.

Congressional Country Club, one of the most prestigious courses in America, has previously hosted five major championships, including three U.S. Opens, one U.S. Senior Open and one PGA Championship. The Blue Course will play at 7,569 yards to a par 71. When asked at the media day in May about the course at Congressional, here is what Tiger had to say…

“I think it’s a fantastic tee to green golf course. You have to drive the ball well to get into some of these flags but once you get on the greens, there’s a lot of pitch to these greens, a lot of movement, usually from back to front.

And placing the ball in the correct spots is vital to give yourself a chance, because a couple of the holes, if you put it above the hole, you’re not going to make the putt and sometimes more likely you’re probably going to end up 3 putting unless you make a six or 10 footer.”

Proceeds from the AT&T National benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation and local youth organizations.
